Dear Sambag,

So….I caught up with my brother for lunch the other day and he seemed uneasy. I asked him what’s wrong. It took awhile to coax it out of him but he said that he loved me and that he’s been dreading this for months. Turns out his fiance’s father doesn’t want me at the wedding because he is “old school” and “traditional”.

Pretty shocked I just say “Ok,” and the rest of lunch was just awkward. Go home and later that night my mom rings me and says “I heard he told you”..and I lose my sh$t. Turns out my parents have known for about a month.

Pretty embarrassed and hurt and I don’t know what to tell my boyfriend.

Dear Jay,

I am sorry that this stupidity still exists. It’s your brother’s wedding too, and if he doesn’t see fit to have his brother attend, then he’s not worth it. Forget about this and enjoy a happy life with your boyfriend without all this negativity.

But I’ll stop there and let our readers weigh in. Please share your advice and experiences in the Comments below.
