Dear Sambag:

Every time I see two guys or a group of guys being lovey-dovey with each other… I get a little jealous on the inside, as I witness the lovey-dovyness from afar.

But I’ll attempt to cover up my jealousy by looking at my phone and/or stare at something else, pretending as if I didn’t notice anything. Truth is, I’m jealous on the inside (with a bit of sadness and loneliness in the mix). It’s like… why can’t I have that, too? 🙁

Frost

Dear Frost,

The universe doesn’t care what you do or don’t have. Your loneliness is not going to be remedied by you patiently waiting through your suffering until some greater force determines you’ve been tortured enough and they drop the love of your life on your lap. If you aren’t actively trying to meet guys, then you need to change that.

And while this is easier said than done, there is more to life than just having a relationship. I’ve seen a lot of people settle for a relationship that doesn’t bring them that much joy because they think it’s better to be in a relationship that they don’t really care about or actively dislike than it is to be single.

Having a boyfriend will not make all your problems miraculously vanish.

But I’ll stop there and let our readers weigh in. Please share your advice in the Comments below.
