Dear Sambag,

I am getting married next month and I am very sad because my family refused to come. They could never accept me being gay. My fiancé’s parents on the other hand are very supportive. At the wedding it’s mostly gonna be people from his family and I feel left out. I feel alone… what’s worse is that my fiancé’s parents keep talking about how my parents are horrible for not wanting to come and it sounds like they are accusing me of something, like it’s my fault they won’t come. I am really sad, I love my family so much I can’t imagine that day without them there by my side. I will try calling them again tomorrow, I know it’s pathetic to beg them but I would if it makes them come.

Josh

Dear Josh,

Don’t think of it as your family not going, think of it as you are gaining a whole new family that supports and loves you and your husband! Congratulations!!!

But I’ll stop there and let our readers weigh in. Please share your advice in the Comments below.
